Debtor

A person or organisation that owes a debt.

Declaration of truth

This is an acknowledgment by a person making an application that what they have said is true and correct. Knowingly making a false statement in a declaration of truth is an offence under section 153A of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008.

Defendant

A person responding to a civil matter. 

Deponent

The person who is swearing or affirming the affidavit.
