The new Case Management System (CMS) Portal for the criminal jurisdiction has launched

The CMS Portal is now the single point for criminal case management and accessing essential information from the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria for legal practitioners and agencies.   

The CMS Portal provides the following new features for the criminal jurisdiction:  

  • Electronic case initiation and document filing  
  • Digitised case records and case details  
  • Downloadable court orders and automated notifications  
  • Access to the Court’s diary for listings  

The CMS Portal replaces eDocs and EFAS for the criminal jurisdiction.  

 

Using the CMS Portal  

  1. Enrol in the CMS Portal. Once you enrol, activate your account and confirm you can log in. Instructions on how to enrol are available in the CMS Portal Help Centre.  
  2. Make sure you know how to use the CMS Portal. Become familiar with the support resources available within the CMS Help Centre, including demonstration videos and quick reference guides designed to support your role.  
  3. For process support, please continue to contact the relevant court. If you need help accessing the CMS Portal or have a technical issues, use the ‘Contact CMS’ online form in the CMS Portal Help Centre.
