Update on the criminal jurisdiction Case Management System release

The Magistrates’ Court’s new Case Management System (CMS) Portal for the criminal jurisdiction will commence on Tuesday 30 June.

What the CMS Portal will deliver

The CMS Portal will become the central digital platform for agencies and legal practitioners to manage criminal matters and access key information from MCV. It will replace both eDocs and EFAS and introduce more modern, streamlined digital capabilities.

Key features of the CMS Portal include

  • Electronic case initiation and document filing

  • Digitised case information, including case records and supporting materials

  • Downloadable court orders and automated notifications

  • Access to court listings and scheduling information

To learn more about how the CMS Portal works, visit the Help Centre on the CMS Portal website.

Transition arrangements

Existing systems and processes will continue to operate as normal up to and including Thursday 25 June.

Listings

To support a smooth transition to CMS Crime, non-sitting days will be scheduled for Friday 26 June and Monday 29 June and adjustments will be made to listings immediately following the go-live date. Court users will be contacted if any changes are made to their hearing.

Practitioners should monitor their usual communication channels for updates.

We thank you for your ongoing support as we complete the final phase of preparation for this significant digital transformation.
