Updates to court opening hours - regional Victoria
From 14 July 2025, there will be changes to opening hours at some court locations on non-sitting days.
Non-sitting days mean judicial officers are allocated to other locations within the region to hear court matters within those communities. This model provides the staff with time to prepare listing for future sitting days and do other registry work.
Court users will still be able to access registry services remotely via phone or email on these days.
This is the third phase of MCV's successful pilot to shift to remote servicing on non-sitting days at remote courts, which began in early 2024.

Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court
The Court is attended by a Registrar each day except non-sitting days and public holidays. Court users can speak to a Registrar by calling (03) 9087 8486 or emailing salecoordinator@courts.vic.gov.au
Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court
This court is attended by a Registrar on Wednesdays, except for public holidays. Court users can speak to a Registrar by calling (03) 7003 4111, emailing Bacchusmarshcoordinator@courts.vic.gov.au or visiting the Ballarat Magistrates Court at 100 Grenville Street South, Ballarat 3350.
Benalla Magistrates’ Court
This court is attended by a Registrar every Tuesday, except for public holidays. Court users can speak to a Registrar by calling (03) 7003 4114, emailing benallacoordinator@courts.vic.gov.au or visiting the Shepparton Court at 18 High St, Shepparton 3630.
Echuca Magistrates’ Court
This court is attended by a registrar on sitting days only. Please visit our website mcv.vic.gov.au for the list of non-sitting days. Korumburra Magistrates’ Court

Kyneton Magistrates’ Court
