The Koori Court is a division of the Magistrates’ Court and is established pursuant to s. 4D of the Magistrates’ Court Act as a culturally appropriate measure to reduce the over representation of Aboriginal people in the criminal justice system and to reduce the number of Aboriginal persons in custody.
