Appointment of Alison Currie as Chief Executive Officer

The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alison Currie as Chief Executive Officer, effective 12 May 2025.

Alison brings more than 20 years’ experience across the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on government relations and financial management. Her expertise spans a broad range of policy areas at both state and federal levels, including budget,  finance and occupational health and safety.

“Alison commences at an important time for the Court as we enter a new financial year with a commitment to continue our high performance focusing on innovative and efficient administration of justice,” Chief Magistrate Justice Lisa Hannan said.

As a respected leader with experience in both public and private spheres, Alison is exceptionally well-placed to guide the Court through its next phase of growth.

Driven by a passion for public service and innovation, Alison said she is committed to ensuring the Court’s efforts remain focused solely on the benefit of the community.

“I am honoured to be appointed as the CEO of MCV, which plays such an integral role in the delivery of justice for Victorians,” Alison said.

“The public service is close to my heart – its work is deeply purpose-driven and makes a significant difference to the lives of people in our community.

“I look forward to working with Justice Hannan and our people to provide the highest quality justice response for all.”
