Important changes are coming: CMS Portal for the criminal jurisdiction to launch 10 March 2026
The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is pleased to announce that the much-anticipated Case Management System Portal (CMS Portal) for the Court’s criminal jurisdiction will go live on 10 March 2026.
MCV has worked alongside the Children’s Court of Victoria and Court Services Victoria in a major cross-jurisdictional project to create a more modern, efficient and user-friendly system that better supports the needs of our courts and court users.
The CMS Portal will be the single point for criminal case management and accessing essential information from MCV for key external parties including Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria and legal practitioners.
The CMS Portal introduces a streamlined, self-service online experience which will enhance efficiency for Victorians interacting with the State's busiest court.
Key features include:
- Electronic case initiation and document filing
- Digitised case records and case details
- Downloadable court orders and automated notifications
- Access to the Court’s diary for listings
The CMS Portal is already in use in the Court’s civil jurisdiction. Building on this success, the criminal jurisdiction rollout marks the next step in MCV’s digital transformation journey.
In the lead-up to the March 2026 launch, information sessions, information on user onboarding, and support resources about the switch from eDocs will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.
